Board-Ready SME Governance & Manufacturing Leader | Entrepreneur with 30+ Years in Engineering, Tourism, Tourism Infrastructure, Simulator and Trainer Design and Implementation & Organisational Professionalisation, Succession Planning
I am an entrepreneur, technologist, and institution builder with more than three decades of experience leading businesses at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, systems design, tourism, and social impact. My career has been shaped by full-spectrum leadership responsibility across strategy, operations, people, compliance, capital allocation, and long-term continuity in both a manufacturing enterprise and a public-facing cultural institution. Over the years, I have learned that businesses become stronger when entrepreneurial energy is matched by operating discipline, clear systems, and governance-minded decision-making.
I bring a practical board-relevant perspective rooted in real operating situations. I have led an engineering manufacturing business serving OEM and specialist markets, built custom enterprise systems across sectors including hospitality, healthcare, textiles, and social organisations, and developed high-precision simulation and modelling solutions for industrial and railway-related applications. This has given me a grounded understanding of execution risk, internal controls, stakeholder expectations, and the importance of judgement when decisions must be made with limited room for error.
A defining part of my journey has been stewardship through transition. After assuming larger responsibilities across the family business and museum, I focused on putting systems, checks, and operating routines in place so that both institutions could scale beyond personality-led management. I have also been deeply involved in succession planning, with the next generation now meaningfully participating in the business, which gives me a firsthand understanding of continuity, legacy, and the professionalisation challenges founder-led enterprises face.
I am particularly suited to board, advisory, and non-executive opportunities where businesses or institutions need support in governance maturity, operational discipline, succession, systems thinking, and sustainable growth. My strongest fit is with manufacturing and engineering SMEs, founder-led businesses in transition, and organisations in tourism, culture, education, and the social sector that value practical oversight, ethical grounding, and long-term institution building.
Supporting organisations in building governance structures, internal controls, and compliance frameworks suited to their scale and sector.
Bringing operating discipline and systems thinking to organisations seeking to professionalise day-to-day execution and reduce dependence on founder-led management.
Hands-on experience in succession planning, with the next generation now meaningfully participating in the business, offering firsthand understanding of continuity and legacy challenges.
Advising on long-term institution building and sustainable growth strategies for founder-led enterprises and social-sector organisations.
Built and led a public-facing cultural institution over nearly 28 years, with responsibility for strategy, visitor experience, operating continuity, people oversight, and financial stewardship. Managed the museum as both a heritage asset and an operating enterprise, balancing commercial sustainability with educational and social impact. Developed deep expertise in tourism and visitor-oriented operations, including service quality, public engagement, and day-to-day execution discipline.
Designed, manufactured, and implemented an additional museum installation at Mapro Food Court, Wai, extending the model into a second location and demonstrating replicability of concept and execution.
Oversaw long-horizon asset care, stakeholder expectations, and organisational continuity in a niche institution where reputation, experience quality, and maintenance discipline are central to success.
Led a multi-decade engineering and manufacturing business with end-to-end responsibility across operations, product development, customer delivery, quality, compliance, and long-term business stewardship. Managed OEM and specialist customer relationships including KOEL, Greaves Cotton, CTR, Indian Railways, and industrial clients, aligning technical delivery with demanding operating and quality expectations.

Designed and implemented custom business systems across billing, accounts, inventory, order processing, and hospital management, helping organisations build stronger operating visibility and internal process discipline. Delivered tailored solutions for organisations in hospitality, healthcare, textiles, and the social sector, demonstrating the ability to translate operational complexity into practical management systems.
Built integrated hospital management systems for multiple super-speciality medical practices, covering prescriptions, billing, inpatient and outpatient workflows, and financial reporting.
Designed systems for billing, accounts, inventory, and order processing, closely aligned to user workflows and decision needs, improving process reliability and accountability.
Configured and supported technology environments including LAN implementation, combining software, hardware, and user-side operational understanding.
Developed a cross-sector perspective on information risk, control design, data integrity, and management oversight that remains highly relevant to governance-oriented roles.
Delivered custom-built systems based on close user analysis, reflecting a hands-on approach to operational problem-solving and control-oriented design across member-facing institutions, manufacturing environments, social-sector organisations, and medical practices.
Designed and developed the full billing, accounts, and inventory system, and supported LAN configuration and implementation, strengthening administrative control in a member-facing institution.
Built accounts, inventory, and order-processing systems, supporting operating coordination in a manufacturing environment.
Developed an accounts system, helping bring greater structure and financial process discipline to a social-sector organisation.
Created integrated hospital management systems for multiple practices, covering prescriptions, billing, inpatient and outpatient workflows, and financial reporting.
Contributed statistical data analysis support using SPSS, bringing analytical rigour to research-based decision support work. Applied structured problem-solving and data interpretation in an academic research environment, strengthening early capability in evidence-based analysis, which later informed a systems-driven leadership style.
Worked at the intersection of technology, analysis, and communication-focused research, building a foundation for later work in information systems, process design, and decision support.
Dr. Joshi's academic foundation spans physics, electronics, and computer-aided learning, providing the technical depth that underpins his work in engineering, systems design, and institutional leadership.
